We are delighted to invite you to a special Flag Retirement event to honor the symbols of our nation. The United States Code mandates that when a U.S. flag is no longer fit for display, it should be respectfully retired, typically through burning. In line with this tradition, American Legion Post 72 will be conducting a Flag Retirement Ceremony on Flag Day, Friday, 14 June, 2024, at 5:00 PM, at the Posts home, 345 Legion Drive, Warrenton, VA.
Post 72 Commander Mike Ezzo, along with our dedicated Legionnaires, Sons of the American Legion, and American Legion Auxiliary, will lead the ceremony as we pay our respects to the Flags of our Country and our States that are no longer serviceable.
We invite you to join us in this solemn and meaningful ceremony as we honor these symbols that represent the values and spirit of our nation. Your presence will add to the dignity of the event and help us give these flags a proper and respectful retirement they deserve. We look forward to welcoming you on this important day.
