Since 2010, The Post 72 American Legion Riders have partnered with public schools around Fauquier County to promote patriotism and gratitude for the sacrifices of service members serving in harms way around the global. Through the ALR Thank You Card program, students are able to express their gratitude directly by crafting a handmade card for a service member that is then shipped to service members all over the world. In 2015, our 5th year of sponsoring this program, we collected and distributed more than 9700 individual cards to service members. For 2016, we continue our partnership with Green Bean Coffee Company and their Cup of Joe program that provides a free cup of coffee for service members and provides a direct distribution opportunity for our thank you cards. Judging by the pictures below, the cards and the coffee are a hit with the troops. For more information on the Cup of Joe program visit www.greenbeanscoffee.com.
THANKS TO ALL THE WONDERFUL STUDENTS AND SCHOOLS WHO MAKE OUR PROGRAM POSSIBLE
